Style: Italian food in an industrial-chic
dining room with well-spaced tables, open
kitchen and floor-to-ceiling wine display.
Don’t Miss: Options are plentiful on this
small-plates menu divided into nine distinct
categories, ranging from salads to pastas to
veggies to meat and fish. Dishes include eggplant parm, truffle fries and fried artichoke
hearts. Bruschetta toasts have a section of
their own. They come with toppings such as
grilled shrimp scampi, seared tuna or braised
wild boar with pickled brussels sprouts.
Try the fungi bruschetta, topped with wild
mushroom ragù, fragrant roasted garlic, sage
butter and a sprinkle of chives ($3.50); or the
caramelized onion, its sweetness balanced
by crumbled goat cheese ($3). In other sections, you’ll find grilled hanger steak with
salsa verde ($11); braised pork belly with
butternut squash and charred pearl onions
($10); and seared salmon atop cauliflower
purée with a smear of fig-mustard glaze ($12).
Vegetables include broccoli rabe in garlic and
olive oil ($4); brussels sprouts sautéed with
Parmigiano-Reggiano ($4); and Napoleon-like
sweet-potato pavé, not overly sweet, with a
hint of cream ($3). A few larger plates (
piat-toni) are offered. For sharing, try the mixed
grill (lamb chops, hanger steak, Goffle Farm
chicken, wild-boar sausage and roasted vegetables, $36) or the pesce al cartoccio (
branzino, mussels, clams and calamari cooked in
Heads Up: The wine list is extensive.
