administration projections were never
rooted in reality,” says Grove, of Online
Poker Report. “But when the industry
doesn’t come near those numbers, it

Further hobbling Internet poker at
the start was unexpected resistance
from banks and credit card companies
such as American Express and Visa. In
many cases, credit card companies re-

blers could not deposit money in their
