“Being a mother of young children helps me relate to my patients,” says
board-certified pediatric dentist Dr. Andrea Mann. “I want each of them to feel
comfortable and well cared for—with a little learning slipped in—and I also care
deeply about the whole family having a positive experience.” At her high-tech,
fully themed monsters smile factory, children have fun and are entertained with
iPads and flat screen televisions to watch during treatment, while parents and
patients receive the knowledge needed to maintain optimum oral health.
Dr. Mann, voted a Favorite Kids’ Doc by New Jersey Family magazine for the
past six years, provides a wide range of treatments for infants, children, teens
and those with special needs. The practice also offers fluoride testing of a family’s drinking water. If needed, laughing gas is available, as is sedation, which is
administered either in-office or under general anesthesia at Morristown Medical
Center, where Dr. Mann is on staff and teaches dental residents.

“There’s no one way to treat a child,” says Dr. Christina Mazzone. “We are
masters of patience and flexibility here.” Gaining her young patients’ trust while
providing comprehensive, state-of-the-art care is all in a day’s work for this
gentle, experienced dentist. Everyone on her energetic staff is good with kids
and happy to come to work—and it shows.
Dr. Mazzone advocates starting patients at age 1, to teach parents good
dental habits and monitor oral development. “Establishing a dental home is as
important as finding a good pediatrician,” she says. This summer she is opening a new Chester office, a century-old building with farmhouse details and the
toys her patients adore. She offers evening hours for busy teenagers with after-school sports and activities. “My biggest compliment is hearing kids ask, ‘When
do we get to come back?’” says Dr. Mazzone, a perennial New Jersey Monthly Top
