LIFE IS FULL OF TOUGH DECISIONS. For
example, each year, our editorial team
must determine which of New Jersey’s
glorious Shore destinations to feature
in the June issue. Last year, our Shore
Guide took you to the Wildwoods; in
2013 the focus was Belmar. This year,
the team made the decision a little easier by covering five distinct Shore destinations: Bradley Beach, Point Pleasant
Beach, Long Beach Island, Atlantic City
and Stone Harbor (along with neighboring Avalon).
Still, covering the Shore for our readers is never a simple task. Like us, many
of you have your summertime habits and
are likely to visit the same beach year after year. You love to read about your favorite haunts, from secluded beaches
to funky seafood shacks. But you also
count on us to let you know what’s new
each summer—or perhaps suggest a day
trip to a neighboring beach town.
Those who have spent little time at
the Shore—or are new to New Jersey—
rely on us in a different way. For these
readers, we provide detailed descriptions of Shore destinations and attractions. What better way to plan a trip that
fits your lifestyle?
Speaking of planning, everyone will
want to check our summer theater listings (page 20) and the compendium of
our favorite Shore events (page 62). Our
Breakfast at the Beach feature (page
64) is essential reading about an essential meal. Here’s an idea: Try a different
dining suggestion each morning of your
vacation. It will take you three weeks to
get through them all!
With any luck, the decisions we’ve
made about the content of this year’s
Shore Guide will help you decide how
best to spend your time this summer at
Now, if we can just decide which
towns to focus on in 2016.
