Summit Hearing Aid Center
LESLIE E. HERMAN, AUD, CCC-A

Ask Dr. Leslie Herman about the impact she has had on patients and the answer is
surprising. “The greatest impact has really been on me, rather than the patient,” she
says. “To have someone tell me, ‘Thank you for giving me my husband back,’ or ‘It was
so exciting to hear my children clearly when on Face Time using my Bluetooth hearing aid
accessory,’ that is incredibly fun and rewarding.”
Advances in technology continue to open social opportunities for Dr. Herman’s patients.
Infrared systems, used in many theaters during movies, plays and concerts, can work
directly with current hearing devices. More movie theaters now provide closed or rear wall
captioning only to the seat of a person who wants to see it. Some Broadway theaters even
offer loop systems that transmit directly to specific hearing devices.
“Consider my practice not only your health provider for hearing evaluations and hearing
devices, but also the ‘gateway’ to expanding your listening enjoyment and keeping you
connected socially,” says Dr. Herman.

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
RICHARD PECK, MD, FACS

While every patient he sees has unique needs—whether it involves rhinoplasty,
liposuction, facelift or a non-surgical procedure—Dr. Richard Peck always takes the same
approach. “During consultations, I’ll talk with patients about what they want and find
out how they have educated themselves about the procedure,” he says. “I’ll then explain
the benefits of the procedure and make my recommendation on how to move forward.
When it comes to cosmetic or elective surgery, my job is to figure out why patients want a
particular procedure, and if they can handle what they are going to get.”
Dr. Peck is board certified in plastic surgery and operates at Morristown Medical
Center and Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. He continues to offer “mommy
makeovers” for women in their 30s through 40s looking to feel better about their bodies
after pregnancy. Various surgical and nonsurgical procedures (including Botox® and facial
fillers) can address that issues. He also has considerable expertise in producing natural
results with rhinoplasty.
“Each patient who comes to us is treated with a personal touch,” he says.
