JOHN O’GRADY, MD
Dr. John O’Grady and his team have diagnosed and treated nearly every imaginable illness. Board certified in both internal medicine and
infectious disease medicine, he has been recognized as a New Jersey Monthly Top Doctor for eight consecutive years. His curiosity and expert
training help him detect everything from community-acquired infections, complicated in-hospital illnesses and hospital-acquired infections—
such as pneumonia, hepatitis, HIV and tuberculosis—to multiple-resistant organisms. Dr. O’Grady provides outstanding individualized care
to prevent, diagnose and treat life-threatening conditions. “The field of infectious diseases requires us to solve a new and unique puzzle with
every patient,” he says. “We put the pieces together to figure out the problem, and deliver the appropriate care or direct patients toward the
proper treatment.”
In addition to in-hospital consultations, Dr. O’Grady offers outpatient treatment for travel-related ailments, wound care, and the manage-
ment of HIV and other chronic infectious illnesses at Affiliated Medical Associates, the multifaceted specialty practice he founded in 1998. For
personal and business travelers, he provides appropriate vaccines and other medical advice for their destinations. His office also includes an
ambulatory infusion center to administer and monitor prescribed antibiotics in a comfortable nonhospital setting. Patients can avoid hospital
stays and the risk of infections, while managing treatment within their normal routine. Dr. O’Grady shares his practice with Drs. Douglas
Bennett, Ashish Chandwani, Max DeShaw and Renee Frankel, and an exceptional staff.
