RICHARD ROSA, MD, FACS
Dr. Rosa, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, is reminded every day of the special bond between a doctor and patient. Of the many let-
ters and testimonials he has received, one left a particularly strong impression. “You took all my tears and fears and concerns and made me feel
at ease,” it read. “I left a lucky, grateful, and healthy patient.” Dr. Rosa says, “In a rapidly changing health care environment I have never forgot-
ten that my relationship with my patients is what matters most.”
Fellowship trained at New York City’s world-renowned Hospital for Special Surgery, Dr. Rosa is currently administrative director of the
Joint Institute at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. He specializes in total joint replacement and minimally invasive surgical techniques of the
hip, knee and shoulder. He recently became the state’s first surgeon to implant a patient-specific knee replacement and utilizes the technically
advanced anterior approach for hip replacement. A former college athlete himself, his passion for athletics led to an interest in sports medicine
and the treating of athletes throughout his 28 years in practice.
Dr. Rosa, his partner Dr. Jason Garcia, and his caring staff are a highly skilled team that focuses on making patients comfortable throughout
the treatment process, which encompasses both surgical and nonsurgical approaches.
Honored to be a New Jersey Monthly Top Doctor for the eighth consecutive year, Dr. Rosa says, “I am humbled and grateful by the confidence
placed in me by my patients and my peers.”
