MARK CHASE, MD, AND JOHN MENDES, MD
Dr. Mark Chase and Dr. John Mendes are devoted to providing highly personalized
and specialized orthopaedic care to the Montclair and greater Essex County community,
both at Hackensack UMC Mountainside and Clara Maass Medical Center. Both doctors
understand that musculoskeletal pain or deformities, and the impact they can have upon a
patient’s lifestyle, require careful evaluation and rational treatment plans. This takes time,
consideration of the patient’s personal needs, and dedication to master the most current
information and technology in orthopaedics. The doctors are board certified in orthopaedic surgery, and their surgical specialties include fractures, arthritis/total joint reconstruction, sports medicine/arthroscopy, and ankle/foot reconstruction.
Dr. Mendes graduated from Cornell Medical College and completed his residency at the
Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Dr. Chase graduated from Boston University
School of Medicine, with a residency at University Hospital, Boston City Hospital, Lahey
Clinic, and Shriner’s Hospital.
