Dr. Gary Pess has practiced at Central Jersey Hand Surgery for 28 years and was joined by Dr. Teddy Atik in 1999. Both doctors specialize
in minimally invasive hand, wrist and elbow procedures. Dr. Pess is a renowned expert and pioneer in the treatment of Dupuytren’s contrac-
ture with needle aponeurotomy and Xiaflex® and has lectured nationally and internationally on both procedures. Dr. Atik, also an expert in
treating Dupuytren’s contracture, is the co-designer of a new endoscopic carpal tunnel release system. “We initially try to restore function
to a patient’s hand nonsurgically and then, if necessary, utilize the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques,” says Dr. Pess. “This allows
patients to return to normal function more quickly.”
Board-certified orthopedic surgeons with the prestigious added qualifications in hand surgery, Drs. Pess and Atik, who work with
colleagues Drs. Raymond Decker, George Gabuzda and Gregory Fedorcik, routinely treat patients who travel great distances to see them.
Both are fellows of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and Dr. Pess is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Their philosophy is to provide personalized care and treat patients like family members.
