A fellowship-trained pain management specialist and founder of University Pain Medicine Center, Dr. Demesmin’s sole focus is on improving his patients’ quality of life. “I treat the whole patient, striving to resolve the physical, social and emotional impacts of pain,” he says. Double
board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine, this six-time New Jersey Monthly Top Doctor employs cutting-edge techniques, including orthobiologics such as stem cells and AmnioVisc® injections, both of which reduce pain from tissue and muscle injuries. He is also the only
doctor in New Jersey to o;er VertiFlex Totalis™, a direct decompression system used in minimally invasive procedures that can help reduce
pain from spinal stenosis.
Dr. Demesmin is medical director of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department and the Sports Medicine Institute at Saint Peter’s
University Hospital, where he also serves as director of pain medicine. In addition he is program director of the multidisciplinary Pain Medicine
Fellowship Program at JFK Rehabilitation Institute. A clinical assistant professor at Rutgers RWJ Medical School, Dr. Demesmin contributes
annual scholarships to disadvantaged Rutgers University students pursuing medicine, and also mentors students aspiring to have careers in
health and science.
