When Dr. Rupa Patel started practicing at Premier Urology Group in 2004, she was a pioneer. She’s still one of a mere handful of female
urologists in central New Jersey. “Women have bladder conditions too,” Dr. Patel says. “Urologists are the specialists to see, whether you are
male or female.” She and her partners treat all urologic disorders with expertise and compassion.
Dr. Patel has made a career of encouraging women to talk frankly—even about the embarrassing urologic conditions that diminish their
quality of life—and of e;ectively treating them. Board certified in urology with a subspeciality certification in female pelvic medicine and
reconstructive surgery, she o;ers a decade of experience plus a warm, engaging personality. At Raritan Bay Medical Center, she serves as
medical director for the Center of Continence and Pelvic Rehabilitation.
“Incontinence a;ects millions of people, but it can be easily and e;ectively treated,” says Dr. Patel, who may recommend medication,
pelvic floor therapy, Botox®, neuromodulation or minimally invasive surgery. “It’s not a condition you must live with. As we age, it’s possible
to stay active and still stay dry.” She also specializes in the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse (dropped bladder), overactive bladder and
