“I give my patients hope and strength to fight their disease,” says Dr. Sumul N. Raval, a board-certified neurologist and authority on brain
tumors. One of few neuro-oncologists in private practice, he o;ers academic-level care for patients with brain tumors, epilepsy, migraines,
Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions. He is the founder and director of New Jersey’s first facility specializing in brain tumors, the David S. Zocchi Brain Tumor Center at Monmouth Medical Center, where patients receive exceptional care without
having to travel outside their community.
A multiyear New Jersey Monthly Top Doctor, Dr. Raval completed his neuro-oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer
Center in New York City. A frequent investigator in clinical trials, he combined the drugs Avastin® (FDA-approved for glioblastoma) and
Irinotecan to successfully shrink brain tumors. He is currently leading a brain tumor vaccine study. He practices with Dr. Dakshesh Patel and
Dr. Lakshmi Nadiminti.
Beyond being a medical expert, Dr. Raval is a humanitarian. “I believe quality of life is just as important as battling the disease,” he says.
He listens to patients with compassion and inspires them to think positively. “With Dr. Raval, no concern is too small,” says one patient. “He
is professional and thorough, but also trustworthy and friendly.”
