Dr. Marcello Sammarone is a fellowship-trained, board-certified pain specialist and anesthesiologist whose philosophy is to provide the
highest level of personalized, compassionate and quality service. “I see all patients myself, new and established,” he says, “because continuity
of care is the essential ingredient to best diagnose and treat chronic and complex pain syndromes.” Dr. Sammarone has more than
20 years of experience, including 13 years at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, as a pain management consultant, anesthesiologist
and teaching attending for the residency program.
His expertise includes treating back and neck pain, sciatica, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, postsurgery back pain, myofascial pain/fibro-myalgia, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, sports injuries (rotator cu;, tendonitis, tennis elbow, golfer elbow and bursitis), arthritis, joint pain and
facet syndrome, injuries from motor vehicle accidents and workers’ compensation claims. At his boutique-style practice, he o;ers a full range
of minimally invasive procedures, including epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency denervation, percutaneous disc decompression,
sympathetic blocks, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, spinal stimulators, discograms, vertebroplasty, trigger points and joint injections.
