An authority in the prevention, diagnosis and
treatment of neurological disorders,
Dr. Sumul Raval brings world-class care to
families throughout the tristate area. He treats
conditions of the central and peripheral nervous system—the brain, spinal cord, nerves and
muscles—giving patients hope and strength
while guiding them through therapy towards
remission. Dr. Raval practices with
Drs. Dakshesh Patel and Lakshmi Nadiminti.
A board-certified neurologist with specialty
training in neuro-oncology, Dr. Raval is one
of few in private practice within a community setting. He offers academic-level care for
brain tumors, epilepsy, migraines, Parkinson’s
disease, multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions. He is founder and director of the
David S. Zocchi Brain Tumor Center at Monmouth Medical Center, New Jersey’s first facility specializing in brain tumors. Patients receive
exceptional care there that’s close to home.
Following his fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Dr. Raval pursued
clinical trials and novel treatment measures,
which led him to combine the drugs Avastin®
(FDA-approved for glioblastoma) and irinote-can to successfully shrink brain tumors.
“I believe that quality of life is just as important as battling the disease,” he says. “I try
to inspire my patients to think positively and
I assure them that I am committed to helping
them return to health.” Dr. Raval is a four-time
New Jersey Monthly Top Doctor.
