“With our aging yet active population, more
people are experiencing chronic pain,” says
Dr. Michael Rudman. Drawing on over two
decades of research and experience, he and
Dr. Richard Winne offer interdisciplinary
treatment for acute and chronic pain, often
caused by spinal conditions and/or complex
regional pain syndrome (RSD). They perform
comprehensive evaluations factoring in their
patients’ physical, functional, emotional and
psychological needs. Both doctors are board
certified in anesthesiology and pain management, fellowship trained and multiyear New
Jersey Monthly Top Doctors. Dr. Rudman is
medical director of Morristown Medical Center’s pain management division.
“Primary care doctors know that we practice
solid, sound pain medicine,” Dr. Winne says.
“They rely on us to relieve their patients’ pain
safely and to monitor them closely.” Patients
appreciate their willingness to truly listen and
try any strategy—behavioral, pharmacologic or
interventional—to achieve optimal outcomes.
With recent improvements and advances,
spinal cord stimulation systems can now
help patients with chronic low back and leg
pain. “They have been a great addition to our
practice,” says Dr. Rudman. “Approximately
90 percent of our patients who try the new
spinal cord stimulators experience an average
80 percent reduction in their pain complaints,”
says Dr. Winne.
