SET IN AN UPSCALE SHOPPING CENTER in the Jersey Shore sub-
urb of Shrewsbury, Glow is a modern store with sleek, minimal-
ist decor. Operated by Sarah Reinertsen-DiMare, her mother,
Marianne Reinertsen, and sister, Megan Reinertsen, the shop was
launched in Monmouth Beach in 2004 and moved to its current
location in 2006. It has enjoyed success from day one. “The lines
at the dressing rooms and registers were like something out of
a dream,” Sarah says. The
store continues to thrive,
thanks to the owners’ close
connection to their clientele.
The relaxed, high-end
boutique is also a destination
for that perfect event dress. In fact, the special-occasion items are
the centerpiece of the shop. “It reads like its own atelier section,”
Each owner offers a different aesthetic. “Our collections
speak to a range of ages,” says Marianne, who favors blazers
and shirting. Megan brings a feminine girl-next-door look to
the mix. And Sarah contributes a mom-on-duty sensibility:
“Cool, edgy, yet simple and not fussy. We know our customers
and want them to feel comfortable,” she says.
“The three of us have been blessed with this business as a
family,” says Marianne. “Getting to work with each other every
day, knowing we do this out of love for fashion, each other and our
customers, is what keeps our energy glowing and evolving each
year.” —JACKIE REEVE
